"tebibar"

i made a website for livestreams and talking over voice-chat,
my two favourite things about online hangouts probably,
on a site that i can control and turn off and on via script;
its setup expands and contracts, via docker compose
the process is that it turns any video given to it
into an hls stream (hls = http live streaming);
the voice chat is handled over webrtc
and a small sqlite database keeps track of
both the people in the "room"
and the streams in the system!
the server, one process and one port:
get /hls/<stream>/<segment> # the film, in ten-second files
ws /ws # rooms, admin rules, webrtc signalling
post /api/admin/upload-stream # a film in, ffmpeg cuts it, it shows up for everyone
the client, when it joins a room:
receives the peer list, its role, and the stream the room is on
offers voice to each peer already there, answers come back on the same socket
plays the stream, and takes the voices from the peers, not from the server
currently
it works nicely as a website to run locally
and it's fun for hangouts and even meetings if one wanted to have them there
when it is on it's available at tebibar.com
